Job Summary
Teach Welding I and Welding II courses aligned with North Carolina CTE standards while delivering hands-on instruction in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding. Integrate project-based learning to prepare students for American Welding Society credentials and careers in manufacturing, while maintaining a safe, OSHA-compliant laboratory. Manage shop equipment, fabricate instructional projects, and differentiate instruction to support diverse learners. Monitor student progress, communicate with families, and collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional practices. Obtain or hold appropriate North Carolina teaching licensure and demonstrate experience with MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of experience in welding, fabrication, manufacturing, or a related skilled trade
- Demonstrated experience with MIG, TIG, and Stick welding
- Strong knowledge of welding safety procedures and industry standards
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, families, colleagues, and community partners
- Ability to obtain or hold appropriate North Carolina teaching licensure or meet CTE lateral entry requirements
- Successful completion of required background check and drug screening
Desired Qualifications
- American Welding Society (AWS) certifications or credentials
- Previous teaching, training, mentoring, or supervisory experience
- Experience with CNC machining, fabrication, or tool and die
- Industry experience in manufacturing, construction, or metal fabrication
- Experience implementing project-based learning
