Job Summary
Teach high school English Learner (EL) students mathematics (Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus) to grades 9-12, using differentiated instructional strategies and data-driven planning. Collaborate in a professional learning community, prepare lesson plans aligned to Indiana State Standards and WIDA ELD Standards, and manage classroom with strong student engagement. Utilize software/tools to remediate and enrich math skills, participate in school initiatives (Culturally Responsive PBIS, Character Education), and communicate progress to students and parents. Work with Bilingual Education Specialist and Freshman Academy as part of a Small Learning Community. Must hold current Indiana math license/certification for grades 9-12; Master’s degree preferred; ESL/EL/ENL certification preferred; prior urban high school teaching experience desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Current Indiana License/Certification in Mathematics for grades 9-12
- Master's degree or higher preferred
- Experience teaching math in an urban high school setting preferred
- ESL/EL/ENL Certification/License preferred
