Job Summary
High School Special Education Teacher (Life Skills Support) for the Upper Darby School District. A full-time role focusing on directing the learning of high school students, delivering the district’s academic program, and applying instructional strategies to support students with life skills needs. Responsibilities include organizing classrooms, utilizing instructional materials/equipment, managing behavior and group dynamics, planning and delivering instruction, and maintaining effective communication with students, colleagues, and families. Requirements include a PA Instructional Certificate in Special Education PK-12, a BA in an appropriate major, knowledge of content and child development, strong instructional, planning, and human-relations skills, and the ability to motivate and support diverse learners in a comprehensive education program.
