Job Summary
Direct high school students in Biology or General Science curricula, delivering lessons, managing classrooms, and instructing students, staff, and parents. Organize the academic program to meet district objectives while fostering critical thinking and a learner's mindset. Communicate effectively with the community and utilize instructional materials to support diverse learners. Participate as a member of the instructional staff in directing student learning toward specific curriculum goals.
Required Qualifications
- PA Instructional Certificate: Science- Biology and/or General Science
- BA required in appropriate major study
- Knowledge of content in area of certification
- Classroom/group management skills
- Ability to use instructional materials and equipment
- Knowledge of child growth and development
- Instructional skills
- Planning Skills
- Human Relations Skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with, instruct, and work with students, staff and parents/guardians
Desired Qualifications
- Science- Biology and/or General Science certification preferred
- Must be able to organize a classroom to deliver the Upper Darby School District academic program
- Strong communication and motivational skills
