Job Summary
Teach high school science using best-practice instructional strategies to support reading and writing within content areas; provide individualized instruction; establish and maintain a classroom climate conducive to learning; actively participate as a member of a professional learning community; contribute as a team member and/or leader to school improvement initiatives; use technology to support teaching and learning; communicate effectively with students, parents, staff and community; cooperate in carrying out district rules; be punctual and regular in attendance; engage in cross-disciplinary instruction, differentiated instruction, and project-based learning; collaborate with parents/guardians in the educational process; demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional growth and developing a program to produce world-class citizens.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Illinois PEL with high school endorsement in Science
- Willingness or desire to work professionally with other educators (team oriented)
- Experience or knowledgeable in using data to drive curricular and/or instructional decisions (results oriented)
- Experienced and knowledgeable in differentiated instruction
- Experienced and knowledgeable in cross-disciplinary instruction
- Experienced and knowledgeable in project-based learning
- Committed to working with parents/guardians in the educational process
- Committed to continuous improvement and professional growth
- Interest in developing a program to produce world-class citizens
