High School Teacher/Head Boys Basketball Coach

Job Summary
Dual-role educator-coach at Juarez-Lincoln High School: provide TEKS-aligned classroom instruction while leading all aspects of the boys basketball program. Responsibilities include designing and delivering high-quality instruction, coaching and developing student-athletes, supervising and mentoring assistant coaches, coordinating practice plans, game preparation, film review, scouting opponents, and overseeing offseason conditioning. Maintain program integrity and discipline, promote college, career, and military readiness, engage families and support services, ensure UIL compliance, collaborate with middle school coaches to build a feeder program, and manage program operations within district policies. Requires a Bachelor's degree, Texas teacher certification, and relevant coaching experience; CDL and safety trainings are preferred/per UIL requirements; duties include evening/weekend commitments in a classroom, gym, and athletic facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (required)
- Valid Texas teaching certificate in any secondary content area (required)
- Commercial Driver License (CDL) with passenger and school bus endorsements (preferred for team transportation)
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification and completion of UIL-required safety trainings (must be current or obtained prior to start of coaching duties)
- Experience teaching at the high school level
- Prior coaching experience in basketball required; head coaching experience preferred
