Job Summary
Design and deliver rigorous, student-centered instruction across multiple subjects including ELA, mathematics, global studies, and health sciences. Plan differentiated lessons, integrate technology intentionally, and maintain an organized, inclusive classroom environment. Assess student progress regularly, provide timely feedback, and use data to inform instruction. Build strong relationships with adolescents while supporting behavior through restorative practices. Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary units and contribute to extracurricular activities and school-wide initiatives. Maintain accurate student records and participate in ongoing professional development. Full-time role Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., reporting to the Instructional Leader.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Facility with and willingness to learn education technologies
- Bachelor's degree with teaching experience
- NYS 7-12 certified or in process
- Will be fingerprinted prior to employment by the New York City Department of Health and/or by the New York City Department of Education
- This is a full-time position
- Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary
- Regularly required to talk or hear
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with adolescents in grades 9-12, with two years of teaching experience preferred
- Master's degree preferred
- NYS 7-12 certified or in process preferred
