Job Summary
Virtual Student Support Specialist provides one-on-one tutoring, academic behavior interventions, and advisory support to K-12 students in New Mexico Connections Academy from home, coordinating with advisory teachers and course teachers, hosting weekly check-ins, assisting with portfolio completion, time-management and organization, and supporting student success across subjects in the online setting. The role involves facilitating student progress, responding to student queries, and advocating for student-centric support while teaching electives if needed.
Required Qualifications
- New Mexico 7-12 Secondary Teaching License
- Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft Office products)
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Customer focused approach
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- High degree of flexibility
- Team player with demonstrated leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well in fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel on occasion for marketing and state testing events (may require occasional overnight travel)
