Job Summary
Ensure students are in a safe, inclusive environment while leading clubs of approximately 20 children. Develop and lead age-appropriate, engaging activities aligned with whole-child approaches like social emotional learning and skill building. Monitor participant attendance and engagement, maintain daily student records, and request materials in a timely manner. Build positive relationships with participants, colleagues, and stakeholders, and collaborate on culminating events showcasing student work. Comply with safety protocols and emergency procedures, including attending required trainings and certifications. May be required to attend off-site field trips. This role supports Woodcraft Rangers' mission to guide youth toward purposeful lives across Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience working in expanded learning programs or youth recreational facilities
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- Work well with young children and/or youth
- Experience coaching or participating in sport activities [volleyball, soccer, basketball, flag football
- Good oral and written communication
- Computer literacy and willingness to learn
- Valid LIVE Scan, TB Clearance, and CPR Certification
- Must successfully pass an assessment test evaluating skills in math, reading comprehension, and spelling
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Stable internet access
