Instructs assigned high school classes in the designated locations and times; plans program of study to meet individual student needs; creates a conducive classroom environment; guides learning toward district curriculum goals with clear objectives; prepares lessons and maintains records; employs varied instructional techniques and media; assesses student progress and communicates with parents; collaborates with paraprofessionals; participates in professional development and district meetings; contributes to district decisions on curriculum and budget; maintains professional growth and compliance with district policies.
Required Qualifications
- Highly qualified with required competency in the content area
- Appropriate content/ program area educator license (Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities) and grade level (5-12) licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
- Bachelor’s Degree with appropriate license; or Master’s Degree with appropriate content area license preferred and/or expected within 5 years
