High School Special Education Teacher

Job Summary
The Special Education Teacher develops and implements individualized education plans for students with disabilities, modifying curricula and preparing lessons to student ability levels. Works in self-contained, team, departmental, or itinerant capacity; collaborates with students, families, and staff to develop IEPs; implements instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs; analyzes student progress data to inform instruction and interventions; provides timely feedback to foster growth and mastery; mentors a group of students through advisory lessons; designs and leads a C Day club; supports extended learning through office hours and targeted academic support; engages in instructional coaching cycles, professional development, POD planning, and data-driven instruction meetings; participates in school events and conferences, upholding confidentiality and professional standards. The role emphasizes equity, inclusion, high expectations, and collaboration with a diverse student population across Intrinsic Schools’ campuses.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from an accredited institution
- Valid LBS1 license required
- Experience working with children with a wide range of disabilities
- Ability to create IEPs
- Strong knowledge of current special education topics and methodologies
- Demonstrated professionalism, including punctuality, preparedness, accountability, follow-through, and effective collaboration
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with students, families, and colleagues
