Job Summary
High School Special Education Instructional Paraprofessional at Lake County High School in Leadville, CO. Length of Assignment: 174 days with 156 student contact days for the 2026-2027 school year. The paraprofessional will support students in accessing instruction and growing academically and socially within a structured environment, under licensed staff direction. Responsibilities include implementing teacher-created lessons aligned to IEP goals, supervising students in classroom and small groups, providing one-on-one support, assisting with social-emotional learning and behavior, helping with personal/hygiene needs, observing and documenting progress, coordinating materials, attending medical trainings with the school nurse, following medical and behavioral escalation plans, applying CPI and sensory interventions to de-escalate when needed, collaborating with building staff, and supervising students before/after school and during lunch/recess. Must uphold LCSD policies and demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality; other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Active substitute license with CDE (district will pay for this process)
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
- Successful experience in a K-12 school setting preferred
