Job Summary
High School Spanish Teacher responsible for developing students' bilingual skills and preparing them for AP and college coursework, using diverse instructional strategies and authentic sources. Collaborate with the Spanish department and grade teams to set academic goals, differentiate instruction, and analyze student work trends with principal/ instructional coach. Build positive classroom culture, engage families, and provide ongoing professional development, mentorship, and coaching to support student achievement and cultural understanding.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- NJ state certification eligibility requirements (a final undergraduate or graduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 for graduates on or after 9/1/16, or 2.75 if you graduated prior to 9/1/16)
- All instructional staff are required to become certified in the state of New Jersey within a reasonable period after beginning employment
- Academic expertise in Spanish or other related fields of study
- 1-2 years experience preferred in urban schools and communities
- Commitment to supporting students’ social emotional and academic development
- Enthusiasm for collaborating with internal and external partners in the best interest of students
