Job Summary
High School Spanish Teacher at Uncommon Schools. Responsible for delivering AP-prep Spanish instruction, developing students' bilingual skills, and fostering cultural understanding. Works within Spanish department to set academic and engagement goals; analyzes student work with principals/coaches to differentiate instruction; builds positive relationships with students and families; participates in weekly school-wide meetings and ongoing professional development; must meet NJ certification eligibility and obtain NJ certification within a reasonable period. Compensation $56,000–$80,000 with comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- NJ state certification eligibility requirements (final undergraduate or graduate cumulative GPA 3.0 for graduates on/after 9/1/16, or 2.75 prior)
- All instructional staff required to become certified in New Jersey within a reasonable period after beginning employment
- Interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools (1-2 years experience preferred)
- Academic expertise in Spanish or related fields of study
