Job Summary
Teach high school Spanish at Uncommon Schools across Boston, Camden, NYC, Newark, and Rochester; deliver AP/college-prep Spanish curriculum; collaborate with the Spanish department to develop academic and engagement goals; analyze trends in student work with weekly meetings with the principal/instructional coach; differentiate instruction for diverse learners; cultivate positive relationships with students and families; participate in weekly school-wide meetings, mentorship, and ongoing professional development; emphasize cultural awareness and confident Spanish communication to prepare students for college and beyond.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
- New York state certification eligibility requirements
- Enrollment in a teacher preparation program and maintenance of GPA if not certified in education
- 1-2 years experience in urban K-12 education preferred
- Academic expertise in Spanish or related field; ability to teach AP/college prep coursework
