High School Spanish Teacher, Berkley Shared Services

Under the direction of the Spanish teacher, deliver a proficiency-oriented high school Spanish course focused on meaningful communication using the target language for understanding and producing language. The curriculum uses spirals to progressively increase detail and rigor. Develop and implement comprehensive daily lesson plans, assessments, and materials; manage classroom environment and student behavior; maintain accurate attendance and grades; employ varied instructional strategies to engage students and promote active language use; participate in professional development and faculty activities; communicate with parents about student progress; reflect on teaching practices and modify plans to improve instruction. Applicants should hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate with Spanish endorsement and have experience in planning, instruction, assessment, and classroom management within a world-language context.
