Job Summary
Teach social studies and language arts to high school students; establish high expectations for student achievement through a culture for learning, clear communication, and engaging instruction; address diverse student learning needs with knowledge of differentiated instructional practices; design coherent instruction with clear instructional outcomes and curriculum alignment; foster a safe, positive learning environment and manage classroom procedures and student behavior; use multiple data elements to modify instruction, design student assessments, maintain accurate records, and drive data-informed decision making; communicate and collaborate with parents and the school community; participate in professional development and professional learning communities to improve instructional practice; direct activities of assigned non-certificated personnel; annually establish student growth goals; report to the Building Administrator; participate in site-based decision making; this position requires a valid Washington State teaching certificate with endorsements in social studies and language arts and may be eligible to teach College in the High School courses if assigned; 0.8 FTE; Bellevue School District.
Required Qualifications
- Possess or qualify for immediate issuance of a valid Washington State teaching certificate with an endorsement in social studies and language arts.
- Qualified to teach College in the High School Courses should they be assigned.
