Job Summary
Deliver specific science course content in an online environment, providing instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process to focus on individual student needs. Monitor student progress through Stride K12's learning management system, differentiate instruction based on mastery levels, and prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests. Maintain grade books to ensure academic integrity, make placement decisions, and alert administrators to performance concerns. Establish positive rapport with families and learning coaches, responding to inquiries regarding curricular issues and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting. Travel approximately 20% of the time for face-to-face professional development and student testing. This full-time role requires a Bachelor's degree, active Oklahoma High School Science Teaching Certification, and resides in Oklahoma.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Active state teaching license
- Ability to clear required background check
- Must reside in Oklahoma
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data, and use it to drive instructional decisions
- Receptive to receiving coaching regularly with administrators and teacher trainers
- Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
- Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs and curriculum
