Job Summary
The Keystone Live Instruction Teacher delivers high-quality online high school science instruction (grades 9-12) for Stride K12’s online school platform. This part-time role requires a state-certified science teacher to provide live instruction, monitor student progress through the LMS, communicate with students and parents/learning coaches, and align lessons with state standards. Responsibilities include delivering synchronous online lessons, developing instructional tools aligned with pacing schedules, maintaining regular contact with students via email/phone, attending virtual staff meetings, generating formal progress reports, and supporting students’ individualized learning paths. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree (and state teaching certification) or an equivalent combination of education and experience, plus the ability to travel up to 10% and pass a background check. The role emphasizes remote work from home with occasional travel for state testing or school events, and requires reliable high-speed internet (minimum 25 Mbps down, 5 Mbps up). Salary is hourly, typically $17-20/hour for up to ~25 hours/week, with benefits as offered. The position is virtual and nationwide within the United States (including DC), with opportunities to work from a home environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree AND One (1) year industry experience leading to certification OR Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Appropriate subject teaching certification
- Strong content and subject-matter knowledge
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Willingness and ability to obtain additional state licensing as required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
