Job Summary
Develop rigorous lessons in subject area through a culturally relevant lens for predominantly first-generation, low-income students while utilizing data-driven instruction to adjust teaching strategies. Incorporate Ignatian pedagogy to design effective classroom experiences, set high academic expectations, and foster relationships with families to facilitate open communication. Hold weekly tutorial hours for individual student support, adhere to mastery-based grading policies, and build rapport to redirect student behavior as needed. Participate in professional development, supervision duties, retreats, and special events to actively engage in the school community.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- State of Texas Teacher's Certification
- Bachelor's Degree in the content area
- at least 12 credit hours in education

- Master's Degree
- 3-5 years teaching experience in marginalized communities
- Proficiency in Spanish
