Job Summary
Plan and deliver engaging Physical Science lessons aligned with Illinois Learning Standards, integrating inquiry-based learning, laboratory investigations, and hands-on activities to foster scientific reasoning and critical thinking. Differentiate instruction to support diverse student needs while maintaining safe classroom and laboratory environments. Utilize technology and digital resources to enhance learning, communicate effectively with students, parents, and community partners, and participate in professional learning communities. Maintain accurate records, manage instructional materials inventories, and assist in evaluating curriculum alignment. As determined by the MEA Collective Bargaining Agreement, this role supports the 2026-2027 school year with a salary range of $42,020 to $84,739.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsement(s) or eligibility for licensure
- Ability to build positive professional relationships with students, staff, families, and community partners
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to creating engaging, authentic, project-based learning experiences
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred endorsements in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or Earth and Space Science
