Job Summary
Develop and implement district curriculum plans while preparing lessons that accommodate diverse learning styles and needs. Conduct regular assessments of student progress, analyze results to refine instructional strategies, and provide progress reports as required. Manage student behavior according to the Student Code of Conduct, maintain open communication with parents and staff, and supervise assigned teacher aides or volunteers. Mentor student teachers and participate in faculty meetings and staff committees. Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities and sponsor approved outside programs. Maintain a safe classroom environment, ensure compliance with state and district regulations, and complete all required reporting and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate, with required endorsements for subject/level assigned
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
- Student teaching or approved internship, preferred
