Job Summary
Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based mathematics instruction aligned with district and state curriculum, differentiating lessons to address varying learning styles and abilities. Design and administer assessments to measure student learning, analyze data to inform instruction, and develop targeted interventions or enrichment opportunities. Foster a safe, inclusive classroom culture that encourages inquiry, collaboration, and intellectual curiosity while maintaining high expectations for academic integrity. Collaborate with colleagues, families, and administrators to support student achievement, actively participating in Professional Learning Communities and school committees. Maintain current knowledge of mathematics content and instructional best practices through ongoing professional development and compliance with all district policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Secondary Education, or a closely related field
- Valid North Carolina state teaching certification/licensure in Secondary Mathematics or eligible for North Carolina teaching license
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
- Ability to lift and carry instructional materials weighing up to 25 pounds
- Ability to perform duties requiring visual and auditory acuity
- Occasional evening or weekend responsibilities for school events, conferences, or professional development
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mathematics, Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or related field
- Experience teaching multiple levels of high school mathematics
- Experience using instructional technology and digital learning platforms
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
- Experience working with diverse student populations
