Job Summary
Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned mathematics instruction that promotes conceptual understanding and real-world application. Differentiate lessons to address diverse student needs while utilizing technology tools and evidence-based practices to increase engagement. Design assessments, analyze data to inform instruction, and provide timely feedback to drive student outcomes. Maintain accurate records, establish a safe learning environment, and collaborate with colleagues, families, and administrators to support achievement. Participate in Professional Learning Communities and professional development to maintain content expertise. Occasional evening or weekend responsibilities for school events.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Secondary Education, or a closely related field
- Valid North Carolina state teaching certification/licensure in Secondary Mathematics or eligible for North Carolina teaching license
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
- Ability to lift and carry instructional materials weighing up to 25 pounds
- Ability to perform duties requiring visual and auditory acuity
- Occasional evening or weekend responsibilities for school events, conferences, or professional development
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mathematics, Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or related field
- Experience teaching multiple levels of high school mathematics
- Experience using instructional technology and digital learning platforms
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
- Experience working with diverse student populations
