Job Summary
High School Math Teacher needed to teach Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus in Uncommon Schools’ urban charter network. You’ll work in grade and content teams, apply a math curriculum to foster problem solving and mathematical reasoning, support student problem-solving and critical thinking, and build a community of self-guided learners. Responsibilities include data analysis of student work with instructional coaching, contributing to school-wide goals, and partnering with families to support student learning. Candidates should demonstrate commitment to students’ social-emotional and academic development, collaboration with internal and external partners, and a self-directed approach to feedback and improvement. Required experience includes interest in impacting urban K-12 students (1-2 years preferred). You must hold a bachelor’s degree and, if hired, pursue state certification and MTEL/SEI endorsements within the first year. Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits are offered; starting pay range is $71,000 to $116,000, with merit-based adjustments. Locations include Boston, MA; Camden, NJ; New York City, NY; Newark, NJ; and Rochester, NY.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- state teacher certification tests (to meet MA state requirements)
- MA educator’s license or MTEL SEI endorsement within first year (for core academic teachers teaching English learners)
