Job Summary
High School Math Teacher at Uncommon Schools. Teach math to high school students using Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus content, with AP and college-preparatory coursework, within a collaborative grade and content-team structure. Responsibilities include instruction, data analysis of student work, and school-wide culture work; focus on motivating and engaging students, fostering self-guided learning, and partnering with families to support learning needs. Requirements include a bachelor's degree, commitment to social-emotional and academic development, collaboration with internal/external partners, readiness to engage in practice-based professional development, and NJ certification eligibility with eventual NJ certification. Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting students’ social emotional and academic development
- Enthusiasm for collaborating with internal and external partners in the best interest of students
- Self-directed learner who solicits and implements feedback to improve outcomes
- Academic expertise in Mathematics, Science, Technology, Engineering, or other related fields
- Demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities (1-2 years experience preferred)
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- NJ state certification eligibility requirements (a final undergraduate or graduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 for graduates on or after 9/1/16, or 2.75 if you graduated prior to 9/1/16) and certification within a reasonable period after beginning employment
