Job Summary
High School Math Teacher responsible for delivering Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus instruction, fostering self-guided learning, and preparing students for AP and college-level coursework. Collaborate with Math department to set goals, differentiate instruction to meet diverse learners, analyze student work trends with leadership, and participate in weekly meetings, mentorship, and professional development. Build positive relationships with students and families, promote student engagement, and contribute to a school culture that supports equity, achievement, and college readiness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- NY state certification eligibility requirements; must enroll in a teacher preparation program and maintain GPA 2.5 or higher if not licensed in education
- commitment to social emotional and academic development of students
- 1-2 years experience preferred in urban K-12 settings
