High School Math Teacher - Michigan Connections Academy

Job Summary
Conduct synchronous and asynchronous instruction, manage grading, and create progress reports for high school students. Communicate regularly with parents, students, and staff to develop Personal Learning Plans, score assessments, and provide feedback on student work. Devise alternate instructional approaches and support students with daily assignments and special projects. Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and contact logs, while collaborating with teachers and specialists to coordinate enrichment activities and field trips. Participate in state testing administration, student recruiting sessions, and community events as required. Work remotely or from the office with flexibility for occasional evening hours and overnight travel.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified and certified to teach the appropriate subject in Michigan
- Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite)
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- High degree of flexibility
- Demonstrated ability to work well in fast paced environment
- Team player track record
- Strong interpersonal skills which include the ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work some occasional evening hours, as needed to support some families
- Ability to work remotely, if necessary
- Must be able to use a personal electronic device and an email address for two-step authentication
- Travel to and attendance at in-person events, including State Testing is required throughout the school year, as determined by the school. This may require overnight travel.
