Job Summary
Execute rigorous high school math instruction using diverse, engaging strategies mapped to a year-long academic plan. Track and analyze student data to identify learning needs, set ambitious goals, and collaborate with colleagues to revise curriculum based on assessment results. Maintain an efficient, respectful classroom tone while enforcing school rules and supervising students during lunch and transitions. Build strong relationships with students and families, making frequent phone calls to keep parents informed of successes and struggles. Independently assume additional responsibilities, occasionally lead professional development sessions, and contribute extra time to student and school success.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a competitive college or university
- State teaching certification
- Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
- A strong belief that all students can succeed
- A do-whatever-it-takes attitude including a willingness to work occasionally on the weekend or in the evening
- An exceptional ability to respond well to feedback and implement it immediately
