Job Summary
High School Math Teacher at East Harlem Scholars Academies. You will be student-facing most of the day, collaborating with your grade team and the instructional leadership team to internalize or develop curriculum, provide high-quality instruction, track student progress (including managing IEPs), and create a positive classroom and school culture. Responsibilities include working toward college readiness and student success, with emphasis on higher-order thinking, data-driven instruction, restorative practices, and engagement with diverse learners. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) and NYS certification; Spanish fluency is preferred. Hours are 8:00 am–4:30 pm with occasional out-of-school time responsibilities; compensation varies by credentials and experience, with relocation reimbursement available. Required Qualifications
- Minimum three years of experience teaching Math (Algebra II highly preferred)
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher and NYS teaching certification for the subject
- Ability to speak, write, and understand Spanish fluently (preferred)
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
- Ability to work with diverse student populations
- Willingness to be flexible and adapt to school and student needs
- Experience with IEPs and tracking student progress
- Experience collaborating with a grade team and instructional leadership team
- Knowledge of restorative practices and classroom management
