Job Summary
Teach up to three students simultaneously in interactive sessions covering Grades 9-12 math and science. Deliver lessons using Oxford Learning's proprietary methodologies, whether online or in-person, and maintain daily student communication updates. Complete post-lesson notes while balancing group dynamics and ensuring professional engagement. Work evenings Monday through Friday and select Saturdays, with a preference for term-long commitment through June and summer availability. In-person sessions require commuting to the Calgary Sage Hill location.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Some experience teaching/tutoring math and science at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students' understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
- Vulnerable sector screening
- Must be able to commute to this location
- Applicants must reside in or within a short commute of the Calgary area
- Commitment until the end of the term in June
- Reliable
Desired Qualifications
- Continuing through the summer
- Teaching certification
- Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 math and science curriculum
- Proficiency in Physics, Chemistry, and/or Biology
- University students with tutoring experience
