Job Summary
Teach up to three students simultaneously in interactive coaching sessions covering Grades 9 to 12 math and science, including advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, physics, chemistry, and biology. Deliver lessons in-person following Oxford Learning's proprietary methodologies and pre-planned curriculum. Complete daily student communication updates and post-lesson notes while maintaining a friendly, professional demeanor. Work evenings Monday through Friday with Saturday availability, requiring a commute to the Woodstock location and vulnerable sector screening.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience
- Good knowledge of the current Grades 9 to 12 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, Advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry and calculus, vectors, physics, chemistry, and biology
- Some experience teaching/tutoring math at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students' understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
- All Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours (4:00pm - 8:00pm)
- A commitment for the school year is preferred
- Continuing through the summer is even better
- Being reliable is a must
- This role is in-person
- You must be able to commute to this location
- This is not an online position
- Relocation packages are not available
- Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory
- Applicants must reside in or within a short commute of the Woodstock area
