Job Summary
Conduct personalized academic support for high school students in North and Downtown Toronto, focusing on English, reading comprehension, literary analysis, essay writing, and critical thinking. Develop customized lesson plans aligned with the Ontario secondary English curriculum to prepare students for classroom assessments, culminating assignments, and OSSLT exams. Provide both remedial support and enrichment opportunities while communicating regularly with parents regarding progress and goals. Maintain flexible hours to manage your own schedule alongside other commitments.
Required Qualifications

Desired Qualifications
- Hold current, valid registration with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT)
- Are a certified teacher in Canada or the United States (or are in the process of becoming one)
- Are currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Education program
- Have experience as a lecturer or course instructor at an accredited Canadian or U.S. college or university
- Experience teaching or tutoring high school English (Grades 9–12)
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario English curriculum
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to students' homes in North Toronto and Downtown Toronto
- A passion for helping students build confidence, improve academic performance, and develop lifelong literacy skills
