Job Summary
Develop and implement district curriculum plans while preparing lessons that accommodate diverse learning styles. Conduct assessments of student learning to guide instructional activities and provide timely feedback on achievement. Manage student behavior, support special education needs through IEP modifications, and supervise teacher aides or volunteers. Create an in-person and virtual classroom environment, assist with technology navigation, and communicate regularly with parents and staff. Assume responsibility for assigned extracurricular activities and participate in faculty meetings and staff development. Maintain compliance with state regulations and file required reports.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instructional best practices for online learning
- Strong knowledge of Internet and web-related technology
- Ability to instruct students and manage behavior
- Ability to instruct students using a variety of technology applications and platforms
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to support students with computer set-up, navigation, and technology issues
- Student teaching or approved internship, or related work experience
