Job Summary
High School History teacher responsible for delivering AP-preparatory curriculum in World History, US History, American Government, and Economics; collaborate with History department to set academic and engagement goals; facilitate student-led discourse, analyze student work trends with weekly coaching/feedback, and differentiate instruction to support all learners; foster an inclusive, safe classroom environment; engage families and participate in weekly school-wide meetings, professional development, and mentorship to promote student achievement and college readiness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Certification is not required to be hired at Uncommon, but you must meet NY state certification eligibility requirements
- Enroll in a teacher preparation program and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher during employment if you do not have a degree in education
- Teachers are required to become certified in the state of New York within a reasonable period after beginning employment
