Job Summary
Teach World and US History, American Government, and Economics to high school students with AP/prep focus; collaborate in History department to set academic and engagement goals; facilitate student-led discourse, primary/secondary source analysis, and evidence-based argumentation; employ differentiated instruction to meet diverse learners in urban schools; build inclusive, supportive classrooms and partner with families to provide resources; participate in weekly coaching, PD, and school-wide meetings; pursue NY state certification after employment; competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- State teacher certification eligibility requirements for New York (must enroll in a teacher preparation program and maintain GPA 2.5 or higher if not in education), with eventual NY certification
- Experience: 1-2 years preferred in urban K-12 settings
- Academic expertise in History, Geography, Political Science, Social Sciences, or Humanities
