Job Summary
Head Softball Coach responsible for leading the high school softball program, overseeing practices, game preparation, and competition strategies, and aligning the program with the school's mission and Catholic identity. The role includes managing program operations (equipment, scheduling, travel, budgeting), mentoring assistant coaches, organizing youth clinics and camps, building connections with middle school students, monitoring student-athlete academic eligibility, guiding collegiate recruitment, and fostering a cohesive, values-driven team culture. The coach will collaborate with the Athletic Department and coaching staff, promote the program within the school and community, and ensure compliance with TSSAA rules and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Proven experience leading high school athletics programs or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of softball coaching, game strategy, and practice planning
- Ability to manage equipment, scheduling, travel, and budgeting within an athletic department
- Ability to mentor and develop coaches and staff
- Ability to build relationships with students, parents, and the school community
- Commitment to the school's mission, values, and faith-based environment
- Understanding of rules and regulations of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA)
- Commitment to academic eligibility and student-athlete development
- Experience organizing clinics, camps, and youth development initiatives
- Ability to recruit and develop student-athletes for collegiate opportunities
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
