Job Summary
Lead the Ascent Classical Academy girls volleyball program by establishing practice schedules, game strategies, and training sessions for all student-athletes. Guide athletes and assistant coaches in developing competitive skills while ensuring safety through proper planning and equipment management. Oversee in-season and out-of-season practices, games, and league meetings, while assisting with middle school program development as needed. Maintain a positive public image as the program's representative and communicate effectively with parents, staff, and media. Complete required training and documentation within 90 days of hire. Available Mondays through Fridays in late afternoons and evenings during the sport season, with weekly hours of approximately 10-20 hours.
Required Qualifications
- at least a high school diploma or GED
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
- Must be able to traverse the sports complex, field, or court
- Complete all required coaching training prior to the start of each sport season
- Adherence to all ACACS policies, including but not limited to the Athletic Handbook, Employee Handbook, Family Handbook, and all applicable school and board policies
- Demonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken English to effectively perform their job responsibilities and communicate in the workplace
- Commitment to model moral character in line with the school's core virtues
- Loyalty to the mission and vision of the school and ACACS
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer a college degree
- Previous high school or middle school cross country or track coaching experience
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of individuals
- Commitment to fostering a positive and all-encompassing team environment
