Job Summary
Develop and deliver standards-aligned lesson plans integrating technology and innovative instructional strategies to meet South Carolina academic requirements. Adapt curriculum for diverse learning needs, engage students in real-world problem-solving, and establish a safe classroom environment that promotes critical thinking and student ownership. Use assessments and performance data to guide instruction, maintain accurate records, and participate in state testing. Collaborate within a professional learning community, communicate effectively with families and colleagues, and comply with state and federal education laws while supporting the charter school's mission.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
- South Carolina teaching certification or qualification under charter-school hiring flexibility (e.g., out-of-state certification, alternative certification, field expertise) consistent with S.C. Code § 59-40-50(4)
- Satisfactory completion of state and federal background checks (including FBI fingerprinting)
- Strong communication, technology, and organizational skills
- Ability to implement the charter school's instructional approach and support its mission
Desired Qualifications
- South Carolina educator certification in the appropriate subject/grade level
- Experience in charter schools, alternative education models, or innovative instructional programs
- Experience with digital platforms, blended learning, or competency-based learning
- Experience working with diverse student populations
