Job Summary
The Reynoldsburg City Schools’ High School Teacher delivers rigorous, standards-aligned English Language Arts instruction to 9–12 grade students, plans engaging lessons, differentiates instruction, monitors student progress toward graduation, and collaborates with families, counselors, and staff. Responsibilities include designing and analyzing formative and summative assessments, maintaining accurate student records (e.g., PowerSchool), and applying trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and restorative practices to support diverse learners. The role emphasizes content expertise, data-informed instructional practices, and professional collaboration to meet academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs, with an emphasis on literacy development and Structured Literacy aligned to district standards, along with employing instructional technology and Lexile-based scaffolding to support student achievement. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, a valid Ohio secondary education license (or multi-age license for electives), appropriate endorsements, and the ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks, in a contract-length arrangement typical of a school year.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or content-specific field
- Valid Ohio Teaching License for Secondary Education (7-12) or appropriate Multi-Age license for specific electives
- Appropriate endorsements or certifications as required for the assigned content area
- Ability to pass Federal (FBI) and State (BCI) background checks
