Job Summary
High School English Teacher at EQA Schools will generally teach English I, II, III, IV or related courses (Composition, Remedial English) to at-risk high school students across The NET campuses, developing and aligning curricula to LA State Standards, LEAP2025, and Act 833 portfolios. Responsibilities include planning and executing weekly/daily lesson plans, labs and projects, differentiating instruction, collaborating with special education staff to provide appropriate modifications, building trauma-informed classrooms, coordinating with counselors and administrators on student supports, assessing progress with rigorous authentic assessments, analyzing data to tailor instruction, and contributing to school-wide professional development and curriculum enhancement. Start date July 2026; location in New Orleans, LA; salary range $50,000–$60,000 depending on experience; benefits include comprehensive package and 403b. Requirements include at least 3+ years of teaching at-risk students, a BA/BS (Louisiana teaching certification preferred), content-area expertise, and a commitment to serving urban students. Required Qualifications
- 3+ years teaching at-risk students with a demonstrated record raising student achievement
- A BA or BS required; Louisiana Teacher Certification preferred
- Degree in and/or extensive knowledge of content area
- Specialized interest and skills in working with students with learning and emotional difficulties
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, relationship building & management skills
- Learning mindset dedicated to effectively and innovatively problem solving and constantly improving
