Job Summary
Teach English Language Arts to high school students (grades 9-12), develop students' skills in ELA, implement differentiated instruction based on learning styles, use computer applications as needed, communicate effectively with students and parents, engage in self-evaluation and professional growth, and collaborate with colleagues to maintain cooperative working relationships. Must hold Texas State Certification as a secondary English teacher; ESL certification is preferred and required within the first year. Bachelor's degree in education is required; a Master's degree is preferred. Employment dates begin August 3, 2026, with 181 days in the school year. Salary is See BISD Teacher Salary Scale plus a $6,000 English Certification Stipend and specified employee benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Texas State Certification as a secondary English teacher
- ESL Certification preferred and will be required within first year
- Bachelor's from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment
- Masters Degree in related area preferred
- Successful prior teaching experiences a plus
