Job Summary
Teach English Language Arts to high school students at Ripley High School. Develop and implement lesson plans that align with district curriculum, reflect accommodations for diverse learners, and use appropriate instructional strategies. Conduct ongoing assessments of student learning styles and achievement; plan activities based on results. Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula for IEP goals. Work with staff to set instructional goals, plan, and assign tasks to instructional aides and volunteers; oversee their work. Foster a positive classroom environment, manage behavior per the Student Code of Conduct, and protect students and materials. Facilitate communication with parents, students, colleagues, and the community; participate in staff development and comply with all state, district, and school regulations. Be a positive role model and support the district’s mission. Supervises instructional aides and adheres to district safety procedures; engage in extracurricular activities when assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid Tennessee teaching license
- Applicable endorsement for subject area if required
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
