Job Summary
Plan daily lessons and activities for English Language Learners in grades 9-12 using Valor's EL framework, implementing scaffolds to ensure academic growth. Collaborate with EL and Special Education teachers to modify materials for class activities, do nows, and homework while administering assessments like WIDA ACCESS and TNReady. Collect and analyze academic data to inform targeted interventions, submit weekly lesson plans, and participate in collaborative curriculum meetings. Manage Individualized Learning Plans, track student skills, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Facilitate weekly student Circles, implement daily SEL lessons, and respond to behavior using school-wide intervention systems. Serve as the primary point of contact for families, maintain a 4:1 positivity ratio, and uphold school values and policies. Perform arrival, recess, lunch, transition, and dismissal duties while engaging in ongoing professional development, faculty circles, and school events outside normal hours.
Required Qualifications
- Active Tennessee teaching license with an endorsement in ESL PreK-12
- Enrollment in an approved job-embedded educator preparation program
- Authorization to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship
