Job Summary
High School Early Childhood Education Pre-Apprentice role for students ages 16-18 in Sunshine Schools NC. Paid employment while learning, hands-on classroom experience with children, mentorship, industry-recognized training and certifications, and a pathway toward a Registered Apprenticeship Program in Early Childhood Education. Responsibilities include assisting teachers with daily classroom activities, supporting children’s learning and development, maintaining a safe classroom, assisting with meals and supervision, participating in circle time and learning centers, and completing required training and professional development. Location options in NC (Greenville, Winterville, Ayden, New Bern; Morehead City hinted). In-person training with guidance from experienced educators.
Required Qualifications
- Be between the ages of 16 and 18
- Be currently enrolled in high school
- Interest in Early Childhood Education
- Willing to learn, grow, and participate in professional development opportunities
- Complete required training courses within the first 90 days
- Sign the NC Apprenticeship Agreement within one month of employment
- Enroll in an approved Early Childhood Education program through a North Carolina Community College within six months of employment
- Commit to professional growth and career development within the field
