Job Summary
Provide specialized instruction for credit recovery coursework across all curriculum areas while maintaining positive student management skills. Collaborate with school personnel, parents, and the special education supervisor to ensure consistency with IEP accommodations and classroom goals. Manage student behavior to create a safe, optimal learning environment and work flexible hours, including summer, to meet student schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Massachusetts teaching certification/licensure in Special Education
- Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement
- The ability to meet the expectations of the Massachusetts Standards and Indicators of Effective Teaching Practice
- Safety Care Trained
- Current authorization to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience and working in an urban public school or charter school setting
- Proven track record of raising student achievement scores in an urban/turnaround environment
- Proficiency with technology (blended learning, teacher/family communication suites, (Google G-Suite Apps, etc.)
- Second Language (Spanish or Portuguese) Proficiency
- Bilingual candidates
