Job Summary
COUNSELOR duties include aiding students in course and subject selection; disseminating occupational information; evaluating aptitudes and interests; developing education and occupation plans; resolving educational handicaps; orienting new students; guiding career interests and choices; providing ongoing counseling for personal growth and maturity; conducting field trips to colleges and community activities; maintaining records and confidentiality; processing college/scholarship/employment applications; making college recommendations; coordinating with parents, teachers, and administrators; and performing additional duties as assigned. Requires a Master's Degree in School Counseling and Mississippi Educator License with 436 Endorsement; 210 school days; salary schedule based on degree and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree (AA) or higher in School Counseling
- Mississippi Educator License with 436 Endorsement
- Ability to effectively communicate both written and orally
