Job Summary
Implement a comprehensive school counseling program guiding learners in academic, social, emotional, and career readiness. Meet quarterly with all students on caseload to review graduation plans and postsecondary options. Deliver classroom instruction, analyze student data for intervention action plans, and assist with course placement including AP pathways. Provide short-term counseling, support standardized testing, and advocate for students at individual education plan meetings. Maintain a professional home office environment for this full-time virtual role with a 40+ hour weekly schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Michigan School Counselor Certification
- Must reside in Michigan
- Bachelor's degree
- Three (3) years of experience in counseling and/or advisement
- School Counselor License
- Ability to clear required background check
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Web-based search engines, and database systems
- Flexible schedule
- Ability to travel as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in school counseling
- Experience with distance learning
- Advanced coursework in counseling and administration
- Experience as a teacher
- Experience in a customer service environment
- Experience with Local, State, and Federals laws and mandated reporting
- Experience in a charter school environment
