Job Summary
High School Counselor responsible for delivering comprehensive counseling and guidance programs for high school students. Collaborates with teachers, parents, administrators, and staff to support academic achievement and student success. Conducts classroom guidance activities, plans and coordinates counseling services, guides students in developing high school four-year educational plans, interprets test results for educators and families, coordinates career assessments, and facilitates staff development and parent education. Requires a Master’s degree or higher, Alabama school counseling certificate, and at least three years of teaching experience; performs duties with confidentiality and adheres to professional ethics.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Alabama teaching certificate in the area of school counseling.
- Minimum of three years successful teaching experience.
- Ability to meet suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457.
