Job Summary
High School Construction Trades Teacher to lead Level I and Level II Construction Trades courses, delivering engaging, hands-on instruction that builds foundational carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills while aligning with North Carolina standards. Emphasizes safety as the highest classroom priority, project-based learning, teamwork, and real-world applications. Responsibilities include teaching and modeling safety practices, developing hands-on lessons, identifying and teaching core skills (tool operation, measuring, layout, framing basics, material handling, construction mathematics), maintaining a productive lab environment, differentiating instruction, assessing student progress, managing inventory, collaborating with school leadership and partners, supervising lab activities, and pursuing professional development and required certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Construction, Building Trades, or related field preferred
- Valid North Carolina teaching license preferred
- Industry experience in construction, carpentry, or skilled trades strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to teach and manage high school students effectively
